Click below for the rules and regulations. Nagva Rules and Regulations Ref Clinics The Steel City Classic is not offering Referee or Scorekeeper clinics. Also, in compliance with NAGVA's new Rules and Policies, effective 06/08/2010, all currently certified Referees (R1) must also be certified Scorekeepers. Pool Play NAGVA Rules and Regulations will be enforced. USAV Rules will be adhered to. Pool Play Matches Matches will be begin at 8:00AM Matches will be timed. Forty (40) minutes per match, with a five (5) minute warm-up period. A horn will signal the end of the five (5) minute warm-up period, again for the two (2) minute warning, and lastly for the end of the match. It is the responsibility of the officiating team to monitor these times. All matches will end after forty-five (45) minutes. If time expires during a point, continue to the end of the rally. No ties. If the score is tied at the end of the time limit, play one (1) point to decide the winner. The next five (5) minute warm-up will begin at the end of the previous match. Pool Play will be two (2) games to twenty-five (25), win by two (2). Scoring starts at four (4), and cap is at twenty-seven (27). Forfeits Forfeits will be enforced. If a playing team is not on the court at the end of the five (5) minute warm-up, they will forfeit the first game of the match. Time-outs can only be called if a team has a full roster present. Game two (2) of the match will begin five (5) minutes after the forfeit. Any officiating team that is not ready to begin the match at the end of the five (5) minute warm-up will be penalized by having one (1) win removed and one (1) loss added to their overall record. Tournament Play Double elimination in all divisions starting promptly at 8:00AM. Seedings will be posted, and it is the responsibility of each team to be at the playing facility at the proper times. Each match will follow the completion of the previous match. The Tournament Committee will post results as soon as possible – please monitor all brackets. At the Tournament Committee’s discretion, matches may be moved to other courts to speed along play. Winning teams may be asked to help officiate in order to keep matches moving. Winner’s Bracket Best two (2) of three (3) games. First (1st) two games start at zero (0), no cap to twenty-five (25), win by two (2). If a third (3rd) game is needed, start at zero (0), to fifteen (15), no cap, win by two (2). Time will stop only if there is a serious injury on the court (medical time-out).
